A bank based in Montgomery County is expanding its reach in the midstate.
Univest Financial has opened a new regional location in York County.
The branch opened Jan. 25 at 2901 Whiteford Road in Springettsbury Township.
The regional office will serve both business and consumer customers and will provide commercial lending, consumer and business banking, commercial insurance, employee benefits, mortgage banking and commercial leasing. In addition, wealth management, financial planning and employer retirement plan services will be offered at the location through Girard, a Univest Wealth Division.
The office is led by Chau Nguyen, who joined Univest in early 2019 as vice president and York County market leader.
“We saw an opportunity to grow in York and look forward to the impact we can have in the market as we continue our strategic expansion in central Pennsylvania,” Michael Keim, president of Univest Bank and Trust Co. said in a press release.
Univest began its expansion into the midstate when it entered the Lancaster County market in May 2016. Since that time, Univest has opened a regional office and five financial centers located in Lancaster County.
Last year, Univest opened a regional office in Berks County and the company said it plans to open a regional office in Cumberland County in the second quarter of this year.
“These new regional offices support the company’s strategy to expand into markets contiguous to its current footprint,” the company said in a press release.
Univest was founded in 1876 and has more than 50 offices in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland.
