The Pennsylvania Bankers Association recognized Justin Aiello, credit administration manager from the Mauch Chunk Trust Company, as the Top Honors student in the Advanced School of Banking.
On Jan. 22, Aiello received the Dr. Philip O. Benham Jr. Achievement Award. This prestigious award is presented to the student who achieves the highest academic achievements and exhibits exemplary leadership qualities throughout the three-year school.
The award honors the late Dr. Philip O. Benham Jr., a longtime PA Bankers’ Advanced School of Banking faculty member and curriculum coordinator from Hollidaysburg.
Aiello is a native of Hazle Township and received his Bachelor of Arts in economics, with a specialization in money and banking and macroeconomics, from Penn State University in 2012. He has been employed with MCT since October 2014, when he was hired as a commercial credit analyst.
He was promoted to credit administration manager in July 2018 and has since assumed oversight of all consumer and commercial loan underwriting, operations, processing, compliance, workout and collections.
Mauch Chunk Trust Company was incorporated Aug. 25, 1902, as the successor institution to the Second National Bank of Mauch Chunk, established in 1864.
The bank remains a locally owned and managed independent community bank, with the main office in Jim Thorpe, Carbon County. Mauch Chunk Trust operates seven Community Offices and one Trust/Investment Office, with presence also in Schuylkill County in the Tamaqua area (Hometown and West Penn).
